Despite various global campaigns, animal rights in Georgia is one of those issues that is still considerably disregarded. The association of NGOs “Shida Kartli” tries to respond to this situation with its information campaign promoting animal rights and vegetarianism. Besides four issues of a magazine on these topics, the association published diverse information materials about vegetarianism, released several TV spots and promoted the topic in newspapers as well.

Furthermore, it held discussions with students at schools, which enabled young people to talk about the issue of animal rights directly and share their opinions and experience. This is one of the very first attempts to bring the subjects of animal rights’ protection and vegetarianism closer to the public in Georgia.
