The excessive population of dogs is a hot topic throughout the South Caucasus. This issue is also addressed by the initiative group of the Youth Centre from the South Georgian town of Tetri Tskharo. A group of volunteers has mapped in detail the incidence of stray dogs in the vicinity of the town and organized their pilot program for sterilization and vaccination.

The initiative is also planning to collect signatures on its own petition demanding that the city leadership address the problem intensively and allocate sufficient funds from next year's budget to address it.
