For several years, the Zugdidi Merkuri Association has been addressing the issue of domestic violence against women and women’s rights in general.

In this campaign, the association aims to introduce a systemic solution of assistance to victims of domestic violence in the Zugdidi district. This should include both financial assistance and support in the form of social services that individual municipalities should offer. These should include the possibility of temporarily residing in a shelter for the victims of domestic violence and their children. The campaign aims to include a separate chapter in the budgets of the municipalities in the Zugdidi district that will ensure long-term funding for these measures.
