organization: Disarmament and Nonviolence
place: Tbilisi
year: 2011
The project was aimed to protect the rights of children with health disability. They live and learn in boarding schools in Tbilisi and are markedly disadvantaged group with restricted possibility to protect their rights. Two educating seminaries took place on the basis of this project; one topic – human rights – was taught once to the teachers and once to the children.
There has already been a competition of art pieces for children who took part in the seminaries. Winning pictures were used for creation of posters promoting the protection of rights of the children with disadvantages. Except of that, the friendly match for mixed teams of children from internally displaced families and children with disadvantages took place, which helped to decrease mutual tension between those two groups of children living so close to each other.
