The project was aimed at the protecting and renewing of Batumi boulevard on the Black Sea coast in Batumi. Since 1884, the boulevard has been a favourite place for  get-togethers and relaxation not only for inhabitants of Batumi but also for tourists. A non-transparent decision was made that a major part of the boulevard will be used for major developers’ construction projects. Local civic activities were aimed not just at the constructions, but also just to achieve publicity for the project. There was a public campaign using traditional and new media. Both locals and tourists were informed by this campaign and there was a discussion with representatives of the city.
