The number of cyclists has rapidly increased recently in the biggest Abkhazian city – Sukhum/i. This is good news for the environment in the city, but is linked with the high accident rate on the local roads. Moreover, both the drivers and the bikers often have insufficient knowledge of the traffic rules.

The initiative group seeks to improve the conditions for the cyclists in Sukhum/i and to build the bike paths. The group organized successful critical mass in the city. The campaign was appreciated by the mayor and the city traffic police. This campaign includes active work with the media, social networks, various promotion and information activities (billboards, leaflets) and workshops on the traffic rules at schools.
